I will discuss Knop's paper generalizing Harish-Chandra's isomorphism for the center of the universal enveloping algebra to the setting of spherical varieties. Here the center is replaced by the algebra of invariant differential operators. The idea is to consider a non-commutative analog of the moment map and reduce to the commutative case by taking associated graded. To address the graded case, I will discuss further properties of the geometry of the cotangent bundle and moment map.
