Network storage space is provided for all School of Math Faculty, Visiting Scholars, and Staff. All users are encouraged to use this storage space for saving their data as it is backed up regularly throughout the course of the day, week, and month using snapshots. A snapshot is a copy of a set of files and directories as they were at a particular point in time in the past. They are automatically taken several times throughout the day and provide different revisions of your files, which gives you more selections for file version recovery. To recover data from back ups please see instructions from here.
Please do not store files on the local hard drive of your IAS office computer. If you choose to do this, please be sure to back up your files on a regular basis as the School of Math Help Desk does not backup the data stored on the local hard drives.
When users sign into the Springdale Linux workstation in their IAS office, their home directory is automatically mounted to their workstation. All files that are created on these workstations are automatically saved in the user's network home directory.

- Filezilla (Linux, Mac OS X and Windows) - This GUI solution allows you to connect to your IAS home directory.
- winSCP (Windows) - This GUI solution also allows you to connect to your IAS home directory.
