How do I compose an email in a different language?

  1. You must add foreign keyboard first
    On a linux machine:
    • Right-click -> Add to Panel -> Utility -> Keyboard Layout Switcher
    • Right-click on keyboard switcher->Preferences
    • Add -> (Choose your language)
    On a Windows XP machine:
    • Right-click on the toolbar ->Toolbars ->Language bar
    • The language bar now appears on the toolbar
  2. Compose message
    • Click on the language on your keyboard or language bar
    • You must change the character set
    • In Thunderbird, it is under View ->Character encoding -> (Choose language)
    • In Outlook, you may or may not have to do the following:
      Click on Tools ->Set Language -> (Choose language)
