In 2001-2002 the Theoretical Computer Science and Discrete Mathematics Seminar consisted of two different parts. On Mondays we had an ordinary seminar (started in 1993), where guest speakers gave general one-hour lectures on a broad variety of topics. The Tuesday seminar was experimental and much more informal: the program's residents and visitors presented more detailed (usually with complete proofs) expositions of their recent results, directions for further research etc. Also, under the auspices of this Tuesday seminar a series of survey lectures on a broad variety of topics in Computer Science and Discrete Mathematics was delivered. Those lectures were reasonably self-contained and designed for a broader audience. Some lecture notes in this series are already available here.

We plan to keep this seminar structure for the academic year of 2002-2003.

Seminar schedule

All seminars take place in Simonyi Hall Seminar Room (S-101)
